“I love this place. I always have and always will. I love its people and its wildlife. After almost 20 years I still look up at the mountains with a sense of wonder and humility. This election is a critical juncture for Canmore. We have many challenges and many opportunities. I want to be at the table helping shape the future of this community. I want to keep what has always and will always make this place unique and special. We’ve had a lot of growing pains over the years. It’s time to take a step back and make sure we are going in a direction that preserves our sense of community and the natural wonder that surrounds us.”
Wade Graham was born and raised in Northern BC. He moved to Alberta in the 90’s to pursue his post-secondary education. Shortly after completing his Bachelor of Science, he moved to Banff to work with Canadian Mountain Holidays. In 2007, he relocated to Canmore to his own business. Today, Wade owns Float Canmore Spa. After the previous owner was forced to close its doors, Wade revitalized the space and now serves hundreds of customers a week. For the past two years, his team at Float Canmore have rejuvenated the space, and provide sensory deprivation therapy, heat therapy, massage therapy, and other wellness services.
Wade came to the Bow Valley as a climber and snowboarder, but these days it’s the diversity of the outdoors that keep him here. He is ever humbled by the mountains and rivers that surround us.
Wade is a community leader. For the past several years, he has worked to foster community and healthy dialogue on difficult issues with authenticity, active listening, and empathy.
He and his partner live with their son in the revitalized neighbourhood of South Canmore.
